Established in 1983 by Rufus Reade, The Nomads Tent is a well established gallery space.
Our small team import directly from sources in Iran, India, Turkey and elsewhere in Asia, where we try to collect interesting and authentic things, trading fairly with our partners abroad.

Visit the bazaar to browse our extensive range of large carpets, rugs and runners, as well as tribal bags and trappings, furniture, artefacts, jewellery, textiles and books. Our collection even includes some rare and collectable items! We also provide a professional repair and cleaning service, advice on moth treatment, valuations, and the supply of underlay.

We also hold regular themed exhibitions.

Rufus Reade runs tours to destinations such as Bhutan and Turkey. These are often organised around themes of painting/botany/archaeology.
