The Nomads Tent at Tollard House

The Nomads Tent at Tollard House - 6th November to 14th November
After the great success of last years selling Exhibition, the Nomads Tent returns on Friday 9th October in the beautiful setting of Tollard House, home of Lady Paddy Seymour. And this year there will be heating in the barn!
There will be something suit every pocket. For rug lovers a unique collection of oriental, decorative and tribal carpets, rugs and kilims has been gathered by The Nomads Tent from nomadic peoples living in Turkey, India, Iran, Afghanistan, and Morocco. The Exhibition includes an array of artefacts, textiles, jewellery and furniture and Christmas gifts with a difference. Visitors will feel that they have landed by magic carpet in the middle of an Eastern bazaar.
Rufus Reade, founder of The Nomads Tent, brought his first bales of kilims home from Turkey in 1983. 27 years later, The Nomads Tent continues to buy from ethical sources wherever possible.
Exceptional at this year’s show will be a collection of Gabbeh rugs from the Zagros mountains of southern Iran. They are woven by women of the Qashqai tribes and are magnificently colourful and strikingly modern yet come from a weaving tradition hundreds of years old.
